Almond Milk

Almond milk – something that is ridiculously expensive in a store and so easy to make at home! You need only a few ingredients and good quality blender.

– 1 cup almond
– 3 cups of water
– pinch of salt
– maple syrup* (if you want to make it sweeter)

Place almonds in a bowl and pour in enough water to cover; soak at least 12 hours. Drain water.
Blend almonds and 3 cups water in a blender on low speed, gradually giving it more speed. How long it will take depends on your blender and how powerful it is. I use Vitamix, and it takes me about 2 minutes. If your blender is having a hard time processing it, give it a few minutes break; otherwise, you might break your blender.

Pour ready mixture through cheesecloth or strainer into a bowl. Discard the pulp.

You can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days, so make sure you don’t make too much. It will not last as long as the one bought in a store.
